Who am I ?

My name is Finn Rosholm and I am a person
with lots of interests. I live just outside Oslo
and have a small garden including also a
small green house. As I am a retired person
I should have a lot of free time (I thought),
but that was not the way it developed. Also
I do not use a lot of time on other hobbies,
but maintenance on house and hut,
atempting to keep up to date on IT (use of
PC, HTML and other programming), a lot of
traveling to children/family and vacation on
Madeira (Portugal) every year and growing
a lot of roses and clematis here in Oslo -
make the time pass by without any
problems.

Why a Garden and why just
clematis ?

I was always specially interested in clematis
and the beautiful flowers of these plants. I
have been working with these plants for
many, many years. I got the very first
information about them already from my
mother - before I "went out in the big
world".
In my most "active" years there were
mostly no (or very little) time for such
activities - always family, work and other
neccesary things had to be given priority.
But, if possible - it is nothing so "anti-stress"
as a little work in the garden and the
nature. If you are getting home under
stress it is nothing better than walking a
small round in the garden to "sniff" in the
new impressions and the smell of the day,
and you are all of a sudden a complete new
person.

Why a Homepage ?

The main purpose for having a homepage is
communication. Communication with family,
friends and other people with common
interests. Also the purpose is to get in touch
with even more people with the same
interests and to share experience and
pleasure with them. So please take contact
through mail or by writing comments in my
guestbook. One purpose of course is also to
be of interest with basic information for
new lovers of clematis and others with a
demand for such information in Norway and
thereby to increase the interest for clematis
here.
I also participate many places in discussions
about clematis in Norwegian- and
international fora on the internet - and this
is very interesting and one always learn a
lot.
The pages are meant mainly for
norwegians - as you have so much
information in English already. But a few
pages are translated into English as many
of the users seem to be coming from all
over the world.

Pictures

All pictures where no other information are
put in are of own production. Most of the
pictures are from our own garden, but
some very few are from other places and
marked with names. All pictures are in low
resolution and copyright protected to me,
but may be used other places if the
photographers name is referred with the
picture. Pictures in higher resolution can be
bought. Images can be transferred with
mail or sent by CD. Please take contact.

Errors ??

By such a volume that these pages have got
there are always a possibilities for errors of
different kinds.
The pages are normally tested with the
latest versions of the most used browsers.
But if you see something wrong - so please
report it to the address you will find on most
pages. In this way we will be able - over a
period of time - to improve the pages more
and more.

This picture show a later stadium with some more flowers. Normally such a
plant have between 50 and 70 flowers - and give a very good impression
during the two to three weeks the flowers last.
The picture show clematis "Dawn" which is one of my favorites. We have one
just outside our kitchenwindow (direct against the north) and it has given us
a lot of pleasure during the many years we have had it. The colours are
especially fresh and rich on variations during the first hours and days after it
has opened. We have made cuttings of it and after some years we now have
"Dawn"-plants several places in our garden.
Above we see one singel flower of "Dawn". This is actually a group 2
clematis, but here it flowers only on old wood and we have therefore only
flower once - in june / july. This is however, still enough to justify having
these fantastic flowers.
